India needs docs......

India is amidst an serious crisis. It has been a result of something that has cropped up over the last few years and the fact that this has come out now , has sent some shock waves throughout the country.According to a Planning Commission report, while India is short of six lakh doctors, 10 lakh nurses and two lakh dental surgeons, Indian doctors who have migrated to developed countries form nearly 5% of their medical workforce. Almost 60,000 Indian physicians are estimated to be working in countries like US, UK, Canada and Australia alone.India also faces an acute shortage of dental surgeons. At present, the number of dental surgeons registered in India stands at just over 73,000 against a requirement of 3 lakh. Similarly, the health ministry estimates that there needs to be one nurse for every 500 people. According to this, India required 21 lakh nurses in 2007. But only 11 lakh nurses were available. Calling the shortage of human resources a distressing feature of India's healthcare services, the report said, "India ranks at the top of nations whose physicians are working in the major developed countries. India has also emerged as one of the top suppliers of other categories of healthcare professionals, particularly radiologists, laboratory technicians, dental hygienists, physiotherapists and medical rehabilitation workers." The overriding requirement in the country is for increasing the supply of human resources at all levels from specialists to paramedical personnel and improve they- quality.

Barca!!!

I love them i hate when people talk with a lot of negativty and trechery. There are many who call themselves fan but seem to forget about how to support a team ok Barca season has spiraled out and they have lost to madrid and villareal but if you look at were they are coming from they have made such a big big improvement. Not many people have been able to boost up the team as frank Rjikaard has just done and that in itself is a great achievement.Thankyou Barca for everything this season you made me feel good sometmes thankyou, this team has been a family from day and im glad to watch them play football.

Premiership's superiority

The Premier League must look forward to Matches of real quality. I bet they wouldnt wait to show such games as an advertisement to premiershipThe opposite can be said of la liga.Personally for me Manchester United are the champions forvever. Arsenal are a team of creative eunuchs, trying to illustrate their french superiority, obsessed with passing the ball into the next against the best defense in the premiership (Adebayor "arm of god" excepted).. Man Utd sitting back in the first half and not competing ... and then coming alive when they have to .. just like pedigree champions.

The truth behind II

Apart from the obvious energy supplement, India will improve trade ties with the US as well. India would get greater access to the highly lucrative American market and vice-versa. Similarly it would also mean greater foreign direct investments from the US into India in sectors like power, infrastructure and Information technology. What’s in it for America? America and its allies feel India is the perfect counterweight to China in the emerging new world order. The rise of China is coming on the back of strong economic growth over the past few decades and its rapidly modernising military. So to counter this, America and its allies, part of the so-called ‘free world’, are cheering for India. They want to see a multi-party secular India with democratic credentials to emerge as a great global power rather than autocratic China, which does not endear to democratic principles. We as a nation are strong enough to pursue our own interests without being pressurised by any outside power as we are a vibrant democracy with a independent judiciary and a vigilant media to ensure a system of checks and balances to prevent this from happening. Never will our country become a client state or a chowkidaar to anyone.

The truth behind -I

I guess most of you would be aware that India is busy preparing to clinch an important deal with the Americans in the civil nuclear energy space. The deal was signed between the countries during our honourable prime minister’s last visit to the United States. The deal, according to experts has initiated a new phase in Indo-US relationship. The reason why I am emphasizing on the diplomatic rather than the military angle is because the deal would usher in a plethora of new initiatives between the two countries in other fields as well. But why is India so desperate to get access to Civilian Nuclear Technology from the U.S.? The answer is pretty simple. India’s current growth trajectory is 9%, and to sustain it over a longer period of time, the Indian government envisages increasing the installed capacity of nuclear power plants for the current 3000MW to 40,000MW. India has one of the largest reserves of Thorium, but we can’t we develop Thorium immediately. It will take years to do so and by that time India might have missed the economic bus. So, it leaves us with the only option to import nuclear technology from the US. or does it ?????

Amoeba

An amoeba is a very small single cell animal. This single cell, which is mainly the protoplasm, can flow into any direction, thus not giving any definite shape to the amoeba. Most of the species of amoeba are so minute they are less than 0.5mm in diameter although some have known to grow upto 3mm. the movement of the amoeba is by pushing out arms in various directions by the flow of protoplasm. Amoebas live in water, damp soil or as parasites in the bodies of other animals. They eat other small organisms by catching them with their extended arms. The reproduction of an amoeba is by splitting into two halves of its cell, it can also form a tough wall around itself during the cold and dry times. But when the conditions become favourable it comes out multiplied.
